A trip to Hanover museum, an ex prison stockade from
pirate and slavery days, will confirm this and many
other interesting facts which goes a long way in explaining
the rich diversity of culture that has bought about
modern Jamaica.

Fort Charlotte
With the deepest bay in Jamaica, Lucea became famous
in naval history as the British and Spanish battled
for the strategic Fort Charlotte. At the mouth of the
natural harbour, the fort still has its gun pointing
out to sea in case of any other invaders! In the 1900's,
sugar became the major export from here, with cane trucks
arriving from all over Hanover.
